Inner North East Bellfield Landscape Design Project

We created an outdoor area with natural stone paving, linking to a large timber deck which wrapped around the rear perimeter of the main house, and connected to the outdoor studio/ home office. The playground (consisting of new sand-pit and reclaimed timber 2-story cubby house) was nestled between two large garden beds (including perennials, native ground covers, mature medium sized trees and shrubs), situated under the shade of newly planted maple trees, and in clear view from the kitchen/ living area. A series of maple trees were planted along the back fence of the backyard to provide shade, and Lilly Pillies were planted along the fence line to create a ‘green wall’ and privacy.

The outdoor studio/ home office featured glass double doors and floor to ceiling windows, which allowed for lots of natural light and views of the garden and backyard.  

Once the planning was complete, we brought in our excavation equipment and removed all shrubs, trees, old sheds and concrete.

• We began by preparing the new levels of the backyard, bringing in new blended soils.
• Preparation and ground works for verandah, decking and studio office.
• By this stage, most of the major ground works had been completed, and preparations for the decking, stump holes, post holes and raft slabs were done.
• Completed concrete paving slab preparations and drainage.
• New framing for studio/ office and decking/ verandah. installation of windows, roofing, external cladding and internal finishes (including electrical, plumbing, plaster, painting and flooring.)
• Preparation for all blue line plumbing for a fully automated watering system and conduits under paving slabs for garden lighting were expertly placed.
• A big day of concreting to get all the paving slabs completed.
• Here we used natural stone paving.
• Mature planting, irrigation, garden lighting and mulch were done to finish off.
